This paper discusses the need for mandatory school uniforms. Adopting uniforms should be a school-by-school decision. Schools should fit into place the whole school community in the debate on whether or not to bring in uniforms. It should not be a top-down decision. If approved, uniform policies should permit for religious expression and offer financial assistance for families in need. In a world where casual has become the chosen dress in professional settings, it come into view that, T-shirts, jeans, shorts, sneakers, and sandals have become suitable attire in the teaching profession.
