Through the interpretation of the works of José María Heredia, Esteban Echevarría, Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, Jorge Isaacs and Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda we also catch a glimpse of the nationalistic movement that existed in the South of the American continent in that era.
