On April 29, 2003, The Middle East and Central Asia Subcommittee of the House, International Relations Committee, held a hearing on terrorism, religious extremism and regional stability in Central Asia. Although the deliberation focused on a variety of social economic and political issue, it principally dwelt upon growing Islamic movements and consequent terrorist threats in the Central Asian region.
