This paper utilizes Jack Stackhouse's Out of This Poverty as a foundation to discuss the issue of poverty worldwide. The essay reviews several important works on the subject and argues that market forces must be regulated in order for progress to be achieved. Stackhouse crystallizes this issue well by demonstrating how the battle against poverty must be waged on the grassroots domestic level, not through international intervention and imposition of market forces. 5 pgs. 8 f/c. 4b.
