The Concerns of Parents about Television and the News
This paper discusses two issues concerning children and television. This is an opinion paper on television, news, and children. "A group of students begin firing on their peers. Children are being killed while others stand screaming or trying to make a run for it." Your child stands watching the news while tears drips down her cheeks. She asks, "Dad, could that happen at our school?" Perhaps it is not your child, but a sister, niece, or a friend's child, would you want them watching such trauma. What effects could this have on the child? This paper will discuss news, television, and children with the effects that these may have upon a child.
