This paper reports on two readings, one an article called "The Ethics of Safety-Critical Systems" by Jonathan Bowen, the other called "Biometric Identification" by Anail Jain, Lin Hing, and Sharath Pankanti, the first suggesting some of the safety limitations of software and the problems associated with the way it is designed and marketed, and the second analyzing the use of biometrics to identify people for economic transactions
