Usurpation in Shakespearean Drama: A Comparison of Henry the IV, Part I and Hamlet by William Shakespeare
This paper will analyze the idea of usurpation in the two plays: Henry IV, Part I and Hamlet by William Shakespeare. By understanding the difficult positions that Worcester and Hamlet are put in, they understandably become the symbol of rebellion and usurpation in both of these plays. By using secretive and foolish measures to regain power from Henry IV and Claudius, we can see how tragedy and failure befall both of them.
